With his dislike of the media surfacing in his attacks on photographers, he collaborated with Madonna on the unsuccessful ‘Shanghai Surprise’ in 1987. Penn served a prison term in 1987 for assault, and divorced Madonna in 1989.Penn won an Oscar nomination for ‘Dead Man Walking’ in 1996, and a year later starred in ‘She’s So Lovely’, with his new wife Robin Wright
